About me ....

I am a fully qualified and registered Speech and Language Therapist and I specialise in working with pre-school and school age children.

I have experience in providing assessment and therapy treatment for a range of different speech, language and communication difficulties.

I have a particular interest in supporting children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (including Asperger's syndrome and Pragmatic disorders) and children with specific language disorders.

I have experience in assessing and treating varying speech and language difficulties including more complex communication disorders through informal assessment techniques and more formal approaches.

My experience within the NHS has given me the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including community/health clinics, children centres, nurseries/playgroups, mainstream schools, child development centres, special schools, Autism Resource Bases and client's homes.

This varied experience has allowed me to gain a widerange of knowledge and experience of many speech and language difficulties. Working within the community allows me to work collaboratively with parents, carers and staff. Working in a child's familiar environment with those closest to them is the best way to ensure relaxed, positive and successful practice.

As part of my working role, I have provided speech and language training for parents, education and community staff. I have also been involved in developing specific training packages for education staff and parents working/living with those children with Autism within mainstream schools.

I work closely with parents and carers in order to provide the best support for your child.

I believe that a holistic working approach gives your child the chance to reach their full potential.
